The aim of the paper is to make a comparative study on the convergence of wages at the national economic level in the new Central and Eastern European (CEE(10)) member states of the EU after the EU accession as well as the impact of the real economic crisis following the international financial crisis on wage convergence. The main objective of the study is to assess the impact of the international economic crisis on the convergence observed in the past few years in the CEE countries (10) compared to the wage levels of the old Member States, as well as to examine what changes occured due to the crisis in the flexibility of the labour market.
