The shift of employment and training structure in 1980-2010 in Hungary and some neighbouring countries

The study examines the structure of the Hungarian education system and the structure of employment in terms of professional breakdown in international comparison with particular reference to Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Chapter one seeks to identify structural shifts between human and natural sciences in education and employment in past decades in Hungary and the other three countries. Chapter two examines the structure of employment in terms of production and services as well as at sub-branch level by revealing the reasons for and the consequences of the shift towards services. Chapter three analysis the match of labour supply provided by the education system and demand by employers in light of empirical surveys, both in quantitative and qualitative terms.
