Situation assesment of the hotel and catering sector

Tourism is the only service sector that has a demonstrable multiplier effect on GDP thanks to its vertical and horizontal interdependent connections. At the same time, the level of domestic tourism is almost exclusively dependent on international tourism trends due to certain negative factors (e.g. weak price competition in regional comparison, poor service quality), and the inadequate utilization of existing comparative advantages, above all for medical tourism. In recent years, the development of wellness and health tourism has received significant policy support. But there is still a lack of a comprehensive and consistent tourism strategy, and the regulatory environment is not unified.
